Hong Kong Caterpillar Photo Contest

With nearly 3000 species recorded in Hong Kong, moths and butterflies are one of the most diverse groups of insects encountered in the region. If butterflies, and to a lesser extent moths, are often photographed as adults for their spectacular colouration, patterns and shapes, the diversity and beauty of caterpillars has nothing to envy them.

For the third edition of our photography competition, the Hong Kong Biodiversity Museum invites you to capture the juvenile stages of Lepidoptera: the caterpillars! Together, let’s record the incredible diversity of ecological strategies, behaviours and of course astonishing refinement of these small or sometimes large organisms. So to your cameras and take a chance to win one of our great prizes.
